Legal Information about the IQF
General Terms and Conditions of Use for the www.iqf.csic.es website
The Blas Cabrera Institute of Physical Chemistry (IQF) hereby informs you that access to and use of the website www.iqf.csic.es and all subdomains and directories included therein (hereinafter collectively referred to as the Portal) are subject to the terms set out in this Legal Notice, without prejudice to the fact that access to any of these services or content may require the acceptance of additional General Terms and Conditions.
The CSIC reserves the right to make changes to the Portal without prior notice, for the purpose of updating, correcting, modifying, adding or removing content or the design. As information is not updated immediately, we suggest that you always check the validity and accuracy of the information, services and content provided. Furthermore, the terms and conditions set out in this Notice may vary, so we invite you to review these terms when you visit the Portal again.
The CSIC accepts no liability for any damages that may arise from the use of the tools and information contained on www.iqf.csic.es in relation to decisions regarding the initiation, conduct or outcome of administrative proceedings. Such decisions must be verified with the relevant centres, bodies or departments. In any event, the information and content of this website may not be relied upon in proceedings against the Public Administration, and no liability is accepted for any discrepancies that may exist between the printed documents of the relevant Administration and the electronic publication on these pages.
Intellectual property and industrial property rights
Both the design of the Portal and its source codes, as well as the logos, trademarks and other distinctive signs appearing on it, belong to the CSIC or collaborating entities and are protected by the relevant intellectual and industrial property rights.
The information available on this website, unless expressly stated otherwise, may be reused; its total or partial reproduction, modification, distribution and communication is authorised for commercial and non-commercial uses, subject to the following conditions:
- The distortion of the content of the information is prohibited under any circumstances.
- The user is obliged to cite the source of the documents being reused.
- The user is obliged to mention the date of the last update of the documents being reused.
- The CSIC declares its respect for the intellectual and industrial property rights of third parties; therefore, if you consider that this site may be infringing your rights, please contact the Spanish National Research Council.

The CSIC expressly prohibits the use of “framing” or the use by third parties of any other mechanisms that alter the design, original layout or content of its website.
Privacy
The collection and automated processing of personal data gathered via this website is intended to manage the service requested by the user and to follow up on enquiries submitted. The legal basis for the processing is the data subject’s consent and the necessity of such processing for the performance of the public functions and missions of the CSIC, which is the data controller. It is not possible to provide an estimate of the timeframes for erasure, as these will depend on the specific case and the service requested.
Regulations require that the inventory of processing activities be made public via electronic means. The CSIC’s Register of Processing Activities (RAT) can be found in the Transparency section of this website. Via the links provided in the aforementioned section, you can access the RATs for the CSIC’s central organisation and those for the CSIC’s Centres and Institutes, which specify, for each processing operation, the identity of the data controller, the legal basis, the purposes of the processing, the category of data, the expected retention periods, as well as a general description of the technical and organisational security measures.
In accordance with Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and the Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and related legislation, the CSIC undertakes to comply with the obligation of secrecy regarding personal data and the duty to treat such data confidentially following the completion of the relevant risk analyses; in particular, in accordance with the First Additional Provision of the LOPDGDD, the relevant security measures provided for in the National Security Framework necessary to prevent their alteration, loss, unauthorised processing or access.
Users may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction or data portability at any time by writing to the General Secretariat of the CSIC at the address C/Serrano 117, 28006 MADRID (Spain), enclosing a photocopy of their National Identity Card or via the CSIC’s Electronic Register located on its website, for which a recognised electronic certificate is required. The CSIC reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy to bring it into line with new legislation, case law or interpretations issued by the Spanish Data Protection Agency. In such cases, the CSIC will announce these changes, clearly indicating the amendments made in good time and, where deemed necessary, requesting acceptance of the same.
Governing law and jurisdiction
In the event of any dispute or conflict regarding the interpretation of the terms set out in this Legal Notice, or any matter relating to the services offered on this Website, Spanish law shall apply.
For the resolution of any dispute that may arise in connection with a visit to the Portal or the use of the services offered therein, the CSIC and the User agree to submit to the courts and tribunals of the User’s place of residence, provided that this is located within Spanish territory.
